Are you being consistent with the person you want to become? Do you find yourself going back on your goals when it gets hard? Discipline is so much greater than what we want in the now. It’s going for what we want most, even if we don’t see how we’re going to get there.
The beginning of success lies in the habit of being disciplined. When starting out, being disciplined will take work, and at times, it might seem like something far reached. But once you put it into practice, you will see that the pattern of success lies in the consistency of being disciplined. This applies to all aspects of life.
Nothing ever comes easy, and one thing that’s certain is that being disciplined sure won’t. You are the only person accountable to be, and it only falls on you. At the end of the day, its your goal, and your responsibility. The main person affected is yourself.
Being disciplined means taking the harder route. It’s always narrow, and it’s narrow for a reason. Most people don’t put in the work it takes to get to where they want to be. In fact, most people look for a quick fix on things to avoid going down the difficult route.
When you do the work, the result is so rewarding. You’ll thank yourself for doing so, and ultimately, you will get further than most people. It pays off, and knowing that you did the work, and pushed yourself is satisfying. There’s a feeling of accomplishment that will come from it. It shows what you’re truly made of.
Don’t quit so easily, and challenge yourself to go the extra mile. Put in the effort, and stay away from things that set you back, or tempt you. It’s not worth falling short, you deserve more than that.
Have you ever noticed that we encourage others and pep talk them to doing hard things? We should also do that for ourselves. Speak kindly to yourself, and encourage yourself to do the thing you’re not feeling motivated to do. Don’t fall short and settle for something that’s good or average, when you can have something that’s great. You’re deserving of that.
See, when you don’t go all in, you don’t become the person you were created to be, therefore, you won’t experience all of the beautiful things that lie on the other side of making the hard decisions. Do you want to take an easier route and risk losing the things waiting for you? Or do you want to become the person you were destined to be? Are you going to sacrifice the now in order to reach who you were made to be?
The choice is on you. Ultimately, you choose your hard; no one can choose for you. It’s your responsibility. There are people waiting for you to find what is inside of you so that you can share it with them. Finding who you were called to be is often to reach others, and to be a light. You’re not only doing yourself a disservice, but them, when you choose the easy path.
Don’t settle, go all in. Someone needs what you’re carrying inside, and it’s just a matter of time before you find it. Once you do, you’ll be able to share it with those around you and make a difference. Choose discipline. Do it tired, do it bored, do it unwillingly, but do it anyways, because at the end of the day, you’re doing it for a greater good.
What’s holding you back?
Best,
Keren Nicole
