How to Get Out of A Funk During These Weird Times

Girl tanning in summer with green bikini

Hey gals,

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. The reason for my absence has mainly been this new semester in school, but also, I’ve been in a weird funk. In the beginning I felt uninspired to blog or record anything, mainly because I didn’t have any fresh new ideas, and I didn’t want to be repetitive to what everyone else was posting. Soon after, it became something deeper. I’ve been feeling the roughness of transformation and the steps that follow. New seasons in our lives often come with the uncertainty of the new and the unknown.

I think it’s safe to say that the past year has been a wild ride for all of us, and it’s led us down a path none of us thought we would be at in this very moment of our lives. For me, it’s been adjusting to life in Miami, starting a new degree at a new university, new work out patterns and eating habits, a shift in faith, and also other new life adventures/opportunities. I haven’t fully felt myself lately and I only want to post what feels authentic and is of value for you guys. With that, let’s get started on how I get out of a funk.

Funks can be tough, and with the state of the world and the uncertainty of tomorrow, it can be easy to fall into one. Just remind yourself that it is a moment, and not forever. I personally remind myself that funks don’t last, they don’t change who I am, and they are usually a side effect of transformation and growth. Funks come from feeling out of it or uncomfortable and those things happen when we are shifting into who we were meant to become. Trust the process and don’t allow it to consume you.

I hope to be back to posting more regularly, let’s see what the next few weeks bring. I will say, I won’t be posting on a schedule, but I am looking forward to posting more often. In the meantime, take care and as always, thanks for keeping up.

-XX,

Keren Nicole
