New Year’s Eve Nails: Put It In Neutral

Hey ya’ll, welcome back! As we prepare to kick off 2022, I have decided to cleanse everything, from the inside out. As a way to do the cliché thing and start this new year fresh, I chose to do OPI’s Put It In Neutral. I opted for a clean, bare, neutral; something light, something simple. I’ve recently been very drawn to this shade because of it’s nude tones while still having a sheer pink undertone to it. I recently started doing dip with tips again. The dip has proven to strengthen my nails while the tip gives it that length. The long almond shape, when done tastefully, gives it that finishing touch, making the look come together.

Two main reasons for choosing this color to start the New Year are: going for something lighter and cleaner, and also modeling work. With most people going for a dark or flashy color, I wanted to opt for something lighter. As mentioned in my previous nail post, I have to stick to lighter shades for the time being due to work. I got lucky with my last nail color. I had a photo shoot and because it was a dark green hue, it matched the theme of the shoot…luckily. But, that was one time, I won’t be taking that chance again.

I normally like this shade in the winter and the spring. It’s a nice touch to all of the warm colors and shades of black in my wardrobe. For New Year’s I will probably wear all black, or something silky or metallic. I want my outfit to be the statement piece, rather than my nails. On rare occasion would I wear a statement piece and do a flashy nail color. It’s my way of evening the look out. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s colors’ and looks.
