This week’s nail color is Baby, Take a Vow by Essie. The color is sheer and luscious. I love the idea of a color catching your attention due to its simplicity, while being sheer, elegant, and neutral. The beauty is that this color works all year round. My favorite season to wear this color however is in the summer. It looks beautiful in the beach or at the pool. It tends to stand out quite a lot and I love that about it.
This week I decided to try the long almond shape again, however, I don’t be doing it again until the fall. The decision came from wanting to try something new with this color since I normally do it on my short nails but I wasn’t too crazy about the shape for this season. I tried the long almond shape on Aprés nails and the color is a gel polish, but truth be told, the nails didn’t last long. I was traveling to New York and within a week I lost two nails…. yikes! It was embarrassing and I had to get them re-done ASAP. I wanted to try the Aprés since it is currently trending, but I certainly won’t be doing it again.
If you want to try out the long almond shape and your nails are not long enough, I highly recommend doing dip and if you don’t like dip get gel acrylics. Dip made my natural nails grow so much and it lasted quite a while. Gel acrylic is not healthy for your nails, but it will last the longest.
If you decide to try Baby, Take a Vow, I highly recommend getting three layers, because two will still show your nail color and you won’t be able to get the full look otherwise.
