Letting go doesn’t mean giving up, but rather surrendering. Surrendering your will, to let things be what they were meant to be. It also doesn’t mean sitting back and watching things align or fall apart. Surrendering is letting things be, even if they are not what you expect them to be.
There is so much peace in submitting to God’s will, and surrendering your plans to Him. Recently, I found myself living on my own timeline. I thought I was going to get a certain job, and move apartments at a certain time, but when that move didn’t happen, even after I got the job, it left me feeling exhausted.
I had exhausted my options. And what do you do when you exhaust your options? You surrender. I thought I was doing it all by God’s will, succumbing to my expectations, until the very thing didn’t happen, and I felt disappointed. That’s when I realized that God doesn’t work on our timing. He works on behalf of our best interest, but not on our timing. He is also never late nor never too early.
Another thing I found during this time was that there was provision. I wasn’t left standing there with a question mark, God came through and provided a means until I find my next apartment, but it wasn’t in the way I was expecting. See, often times, provision comes in the form of what we need, and not necessarily what we want.
Maybe there’s something He is asking you to surrender, and you’re too scared because you’re not seeing the results you want, but I think you know what you need to do. Take the big leap, trust that there’s someone bigger than you, Somone who loves you, and that you will be provided for, and taken care of.
The road that scares us is always the one worth going down. It’s the one with the best surprises and outcomes. What are you feeling the need to surrender? Will you do it, or will you hold on to something that perhaps is no longer serving you?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to comment down below or message me.
xx,
Keren Nicole
